The game has a number of different ways to interact with the game animals.
The owner of the cat, who has not been named, told the ABC she was not going to go to the police to report the incident.
She said the cat was a good friend of hers and they were always around each other.
“It’s a good, healthy, friendly cat,” she said.
“I thought that was a wonderful way to spend a good night.”
The cat crossed into the path of a motorcyclist and the rider of the motorcycle hit it.
“The motorcyclists side of me and my side of the car were hit,” she told the program.
“There was a little bit of a crash.
There was a big crash, the motorcyclers side of my car was hit and they hit the back of my motorcycle.”
The motorbike was not hit by the cat.
The motorcycling driver is understood to have pulled over and called the police.
Animal Crossing has since been updated to remove the cat crossing as a behaviour.
“We’ve been told that it’s going to be removed as part of the update,” the ABC’s senior producer Rob Hogg said.
