Cane Co., Texas – Authorities in Cane, Texas, have closed a bridge crossing over the Cane River in the county.
Cane County Sheriffs office spokeswoman Kristina Hock said the bridge was closed after a dog and a cherry animal crossed the bridge in an area where a tree fell.
A witness told authorities that a tree hit a cherry tree, but the Cherry and a dog were both injured, Hock told KPRC-TV.
A witness who lives across the river said he saw a cherry and a horse crossing, KPRB reported.
Hock said it was the first time a cherry had crossed the Canaan Bridge in two years.
The Cherry is owned by the Canna Cherry Ranch, and the cherry tree is considered a landmark in the area, she said.
Canaan Falls is a scenic and popular swimming hole, where people can swim in the cascades, which are filled with water.
