ANIME, one of the most popular and beloved anime series, is getting a makeover!
This fall, Anime Skates will begin an official social media campaign to help promote the series’ social justice themes, a new series of social media ads, and new merchandise featuring characters and more!
The series will debut with a new trailer on May 27 at 10:00 a.m.
PDT, and the official campaign is kicking off at 9:00 p.m., May 30, with a live-streamed premiere of the trailer.
For those who are not familiar with the series, the main character is the “Moe,” a “pink bunny bunny” (voiced by Ryo Maki) who has a passion for skateboarding and has become a “celebrity” in his hometown of Nara, Japan.
He also has a knack for collecting “silly, silly” objects and loves the game of “Rinnekatsu,” an extremely popular Japanese board game.
The original series, which aired from 1996 to 1997, featured a diverse cast of characters who included: Ryo Michiaki (voice of Maki, the “pinky bunny”), Maki’s childhood friend Takuma, his younger sister Takanashi, and his childhood friend Rinnekoto.
As of May 31, the anime has over 5.5 million YouTube subscribers and has amassed more than 11 million followers on Instagram.
In addition to its original anime series and the social media campaigns, Anime skaters are also collaborating with the U.S. government, including President Donald Trump and the White House’s Office of Science and Technology Policy, to create a new digital strategy for promoting the series.
It will be exciting to see what the new social media efforts will include in the near future.
We hope you enjoy this new partnership with Anime Skate, which is dedicated to helping Anime fans learn more about social justice and helping them enjoy the fun of “anime.”
The Japanese name for Anime is “animes” and the series was originally created by Masahiko Kurosawa (The Princess and the Frog, Cowboy Bebop, Kiki’s Delivery Service) and Shunji Koyama (Love Live!).
